1. PM Narendra Modi’s Visit to Assam

Following high-impact development stops in Mizoram and Manipur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his five-state tour with a two-day visit to Assam from September 13–14, 2025. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for mega infrastructure and industrial projects valued at over ₹18,530 crore.

Veer Savarkar Sports Complex Inaugurated in Ahmedabad

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alongside Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, inaugurated the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex built for ₹825 crore at Naranpura in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Strategic Vision: Spanning 1.19 lakh sq.m, this is India’s largest and most modern sports complex. It is designed to anchor Ahmedabad’s bid to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games (CWG) and the 2036 Summer Olympics.

  • Capacity & Infrastructure: Features an Aquatics stadium, Indoor multi-sports arena, Fit India Zone, and host facilities for 300 athletes and 8 coaches. It includes a 275 kW solar power plant and a 60 KLD sewage treatment plant.

Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) Monthly Bulletin – August 2025

The National Statistics Office (NSO) under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) released its 5th monthly PLFS bulletin.

  • Key Finding: The National Unemployment Rate (UR) for individuals aged 15 and above declined for the second consecutive month, dropping to 5.1% in August 2025 (down from 5.6% in June and 5.2% in July).
  • Gender and Sector Dynamics: The UR for males aged 15+ fell to 5.0%. This was driven by a sharp drop in urban male unemployment from 6.6% in July to 5.9% in August 2025. Rural male unemployment also fell to 4.5%.

Startup India Partners with CarDekho Group

Startup India, operating under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), signed a strategic MoU with the CarDekho Group in New Delhi.

RBI Regulatory Directions for Payment Aggregators & Gateways

The Reserve Bank of India rolled out the 'Regulation of Payment Aggregators Directions, 2025'.

  • Licensing & Capitalization: Non-bank Payment Aggregators (PAs) must secure explicit RBI authorization under the PSS Act, 2007. They must have a minimum net worth of ₹15 crore at the time of application, scaling up to ₹25 crore by the end of the third financial year.
  • Fund Safeguarding: Non-bank PAs are mandated to secure all merchant collections in a dedicated escrow account maintained with Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs) in India.
