Government Extends 16th Finance Commission Tenure to November 2025
The Government of India (GoI) has extended the tenure of the 16th Finance Commission (FC) by one month. The deadline for submitting its fiscal recommendation report has been shifted from October 31, 2025, to November 30, 2025.
- Purpose: The commission is tasked with recommending the formula for Centre-State tax sharing for the five-year fiscal period spanning April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031.

- Constitutional Basis: Finance Commissions are constitutional bodies appointed by the President of India every five years under Article 280 of the Constitution.

CBT Approves Crucial Reforms for EPF Subscribes & Pensioners

Limestone Reclassified as ‘Major Mineral’ to Enhance Rural Income
