- Indigenous Technology Development by C-DOT and IITs:
- The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) has taken a significant step toward developing Indigenous technology. C-DOT signed an agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) and Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi (IIT Mandi) to work on ‘Cell-Free’ 6G Access Points. C-DOT, an Indian Government-owned telecommunications technology development center, has expanded its focus from digital exchanges to wireless and wired telecom equipment since the 1980s. It operates offices in Delhi, Bangalore, and Kolkata and has achieved Maturity Level 5 of CMMI-DEV v1.3.
