  1. Urban Flood Management Projects Approval by High-Level Committee:
    • The High-Level Committee, in its recent meeting, approved six project proposals in Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, West Bengal, and Maharashtra. These projects, with a total cost of Rs. 2514.36 crore, aim to enhance urban flood management in six metro cities: Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Pune. Notably, the HLC had previously approved an integrated flood management project for Tamil Nadu in Chennai city on November 27, 2023, for Rs. 561.29 crore.
  2. Setting Up of PM MITRA Parks for Textile Industry:
    • The Government has given the green light to establish seven PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks. These parks, located in Greenfield and Brownfield sites (including a Greenfield project in Virudhanagar, Tamil Nadu), will feature world-class infrastructure, including plug-and-play facilities. The outlay for this initiative is Rs. 4,445 crore for seven years until 2027-28.
