  • Sigandur Bridge Inauguration: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the Sigandur Bridge over the Sharavathi River in Shivamogga, Karnataka. At 2.25 km long, it’s India’s second-longest cable-stayed bridge and the eighth extra-dosed cable-styled bridge in the country. The bridge, built at a cost of Rs 472 crore, significantly reduces travel time and is the first of its kind in Karnataka.
