- Tarang Shakti 2024 – India’s Multinational Air Exercise: India will host its first multinational air exercise called “Tarang Shakti 2024” in two phases. The exercise will take place in Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan, with nearly 30 countries participating. Ten countries will join the exercise with their fighter aircraft. Tarang Shakti aims to showcase India’s defense capabilities and enhance cooperation among participating militaries.
- Lieutenant General Sadhna Saxena Nair – First Woman Director General of Medical Services: Lieutenant General Sadhna Saxena Nair has become the first woman to be appointed the Director General of Medical Services in the Indian Army. She was also the first woman to serve as the Director of General Hospital Services (Armed Forces) and the Principal Medical Officer of the Western Air Command.
- ADB’s Loan for Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has committed a $200 million loan to improve solid waste management and sanitation in 100 cities across eight states in India. This funding is part of the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 – Comprehensive Municipal Waste Management in Indian Cities Program.

- UGRO Capital’s Co-Lending Agreement with SIDBI: UGRO Capital, a data-tech non-banking financial company (NBFC), has partnered with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) to provide timely and affordable credit to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This collaboration aligns with the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) co-lending framework, which aims to enhance priority-sector lending by leveraging the strengths of both banks and NBFCs.
- Covrzy’s Direct Broking License from IRDAI: Bengaluru-based insurtech startup Covrzy has achieved a significant milestone by obtaining a direct broking (general) license from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). This license allows Covrzy to function as a direct insurance broker, offering a comprehensive range of business insurance solutions across India.

- 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists (ICAE) in New Delhi: India will host the 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists (ICAE) in New Delhi from August 2-7, 2024.
