Cabinet Approves ₹9,585 Crore Scheme for Replacement of Old Trucks & Buses in Delhi-NCR
The Union Cabinet, chaired by PM Narendra Modi, approved a two-year ₹9,585 crore scheme to replace 2.07 lakh Bharat Stage (BS)-IV and older trucks and buses in Delhi–NCR with BS-VI-compliant or electric vehicles (EVs), to reduce vehicular emissions, improve air quality, and accelerate commercial fleet modernisation, on 3 June 2026.
Funding: Through the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) under MoHUA; implemented by MoRTH and MoPNG in collaboration with participating States and UT of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh (UP).
Monitoring: Empowered Committee chaired by Cabinet Secretary Dr. T. V. Somanathan.

Union Cabinet Approves ₹10,000 Crore ATF Price Stabilisation Fund to Support Indian Airlines
The Union Cabinet, chaired by PM Narendra Modi, approved one-time budgetary support of up to ₹10,000 crore for Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to provide Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) price stabilisation support to scheduled Indian Airlines for domestic and international operations, affected by rising global fuel prices due to the ongoing West Asia conflict.
Interest-Free Advance to OMCs: GoI will provide budgetary support as interest-free advances through the demands for grants of MoPNG. The corpus will compensate OMCs whenever the prevailing Import Parity Price (IPP) exceeds the benchmark price determined by the GoI.
Recovery & True-Up Mechanism: When global ATF prices decrease, differential amount recovered from OMCs and returned to the Consolidated Fund of India — continues until the entire advance is fully recovered.
Monitoring & Audit: Committee comprising representatives of MoCA, MoPNG, and Department of Expenditure (DoE), MoF.
Duration: Up to 36 months (3 years), subject to annual review or until support amount is fully recovered.
Union MoS Jayant Chaudhary Launches 'Navachar Mantra' to Empower Grassroots Innovators
Union MoS (IC) Jayant Chaudhary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), launched 'Navachar Mantra', a flagship national initiative, at IIT Delhi, New Delhi, to identify, mentor, and scale grassroots innovators and early-stage entrepreneurs.
Implementation: By the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) with the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), IIT Delhi, as Technical Knowledge Partner.
Structure: Year-long engagement through multi-stage evaluation involving academia, industry, investment firms, and government — supported by mentorship, webinars, innovation showcases, investor interactions, and a culminating national showcase event.
Registration: Open on the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) until 5 July 2026.
Centre Expands QR Tagging of FCI Foodgrain Bags to AP, Telangana & Odisha
The Government of India (GoI) expanded the Quick Response (QR) code tagging initiative for Food Corporation of India (FCI) foodgrain bags to Andhra Pradesh (AP), Telangana, and Odisha during the ongoing marketing season.
Background: Follows successful QR-tagging pilots for rice in AP (December 2025–January 2026) and wheat in Punjab (April–May 2026).

T-Hub Launches Third ORBIT Space-Tech Cohort; Onboards 13 Startups
Startup incubator Technology Hub (T-Hub) launched the third cohort of ORBIT, the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM)-supported Atal Innovation Incubation Centre (AIC)-T-Hub Space-Tech Accelerator Programme, inducting 13 startups focused on innovative solutions for the space sector.
With Cohort 3, ORBIT has now supported 36 space-tech startups, while T-Hub's wider space-tech initiatives have engaged over 100 startups.
Space Domains: Propulsion systems, orbital servicing, satellite intelligence, sovereign compute, space energy systems, satellite connectivity, and downstream geospatial technologies.
Selected Startups (13): Sanyak Space Technologies, Trishul Space, Kessler Dynamics, Velotrax, Zoove Space, Space OS, Humanity Space, Landlens, STAR Labs, Red Balloon Aerospace, Astro Voltaics, Orbit Grid, and Nibiaa Devices.
Mentorship: Guidance from industry experts, investors, and former ISRO leaders through specialised mentorships, masterclasses, and industry programmes.
Key Progress: Previous ORBIT Cohorts have collectively raised nearly ₹30 crore in funding and contributed to 18 published Intellectual Properties (IPs).
