PM Modi Launches ₹9,700 Crore Development Projects on Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas programme in Dediapada, Narmada district, Gujarat, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of revered tribal leader and freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda. During his visit, the PM inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for multiple development projects worth over ₹9,700 crore.

• Preserving Tribal Heritage: The PM announced the establishment of the Shri Govind Guru Chair for Tribal Language Promotion Centre (TLPC) in Narmada district to preserve and promote indigenous dialects.
• Mass Housing Delivery: Modi led the Grih Pravesh (house-warming) ceremony for 1 lakh homes constructed under the PM-JANMAN (Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan) and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JAGUA) schemes.
• Education Infrastructure: He inaugurated 42 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) built at a cost of around ₹1,900 crore, along with 228 multi-purpose community hubs. He also laid the foundation stone for 50 more EMRSs valued at over ₹2,320 crore.
• Regional Connectivity: The foundation stone was laid for 748 km of new roads, complemented by the flagging off of 250 specialized transit buses to serve 14 tribal districts across Gujarat.

Government’s E-Jagriti Portal Resolves Over 1.27 Lakh Consumer Cases

The Department of Consumer Affairs' (DoCA) unified digital platform, e-Jagriti (E-Justice And Grievance Redressal through Information Technology and Innovation), has crossed 2.75 lakh registered users. Since its launch on January 1, 2025, the platform has actively processed 1,30,550 consumer complaints nationwide, resolving more than 1.27 lakh cases.

• Integrated Architecture: e-Jagriti acts as a single window by blending multiple consumer grievance systems, including the Online Case Monitoring System (OCMS), E-Daakhil, the National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (NCDRC), and the CONFONET network.
• Inclusive Features: The site provides real-time case tracking, end-to-end encryption, a multilingual interface, chatbot assistance, and voice-to-text tools for visually impaired and elderly citizens.
• NRI Access: An advanced OTP-based registration system allows Non-Resident Indians to file cases, execute digital payments, and attend virtual hearings from abroad. Out of 1,388 registered NRIs, the highest complaint volumes originated from the USA (146), the UK (52), and the UAE (47).
• Top Adopting States: Gujarat leads national adoption with 14,758 logged cases, followed closely by Uttar Pradesh (14,050 cases) and Maharashtra (12,484 cases).

Central Government Approves ₹7,172 Crore Investment Under ECMS Tranche II

Union MeitY Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the approval of 17 new manufacturing projects under the second tranche of the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS). This milestone was unveiled during the India Cellular Electronics Association (ICEA) forum in New Delhi.

• Economic Impact: The ₹7,172 crore capital injection is projected to unlock localized component production worth ₹65,111 crore and generate 11,808 direct jobs.
• Geographic Distribution: The production units will span 9 states and Union Territories: Karnataka (5), Maharashtra (3), Tamil Nadu (3), with one unit each across Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.
• Targeted Hardware Components: Capital will fund localized facilities for camera modules, advanced connectors, oscillators, and enclosures. Multi-Layer Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) are slated to capture the highest individual asset share, accounting for ₹3,183 crore of the total investment.
• Next-Gen Chip Launch: Minister Vaishnaw also launched ‘ARKA-GKT1’, India’s first-generation Intelligent Power (IP) platform-on-a-chip. Developed by Cyient Semiconductors in tandem with Azimuth AI, it is designed for edge Artificial Intelligence and smart energy hardware.

Gujarat’s Ambaji White Marble Granted Geographical Indication (GI) Tag

The Geographical Indications Registry in Chennai, functioning under the DPIIT (Ministry of Commerce and Industry), has officially awarded the Geographical Indication (GI) tag to Ambaji White Marble under the High-Quality Natural Stone category.

• Unique Specifications: Quarried extensively in the Ambaji town of Banaskantha district, Gujarat, this metamorphic rock consists mainly of pure calcite ($CaCO_3$). It is globally recognized for its unique milky-white hue, high calcium density, long-term durability, and natural high gloss.
• Protected Entity: The legal registration status has been formally mapped to the Ambaji Marbles Quarry and Factory Association. The certificate remains valid for 10 years, offering legal safeguards against counterfeit trade while boosting export market valuations for local artisans and mining clusters.

DRDO Partners with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalya for Strategic Military Logistics

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalya (GSV) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop next-generation smart technology solutions tailored for national security.

Sixteenth Finance Commission Submits Official Report to the President

The Sixteenth Finance Commission (FC), chaired by noted economist Dr. Arvind Panagariya, officially submitted its exhaustive fiscal blueprint to President Droupadi Murmu. The constitutional report charts the distribution of net tax proceeds between the Union Government and individual states for the upcoming five-year award period, spanning 2026-27 to 2030-31.

• Constitutional Mandate: Constituted under Article 280 of the Constitution of India, the commission establishes resource-sharing quotas, defines principles for grants-in-aid, and reviews finances to bolster disaster management funds and local governance bodies.

8th India-UK Joint Military Exercise ‘Ajeya Warrior’ Begins in Rajasthan

India’s Exports Surge 4.84% to $491.8 Billion from April to October

According to the latest trade ledger released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, India’s combined merchandise and services exports reached an estimated USD 491.8 billion during the first seven months of the current financial year (April–October), registering a 4.84% growth compared to the same timeline last fiscal year.

• Merchandise Breakdown: Segmented data reveals that standalone merchandise exports for the April–October window touched USD 254.25 billion, shifting upward from the USD 252.66 billion recorded in the previous corresponding cycle. Total global imports climbed 5.74% to hit USD 569.95 billion.
• October Monthly Snapshot: Total monthly exports for October stood at USD 72.89 billion (marking a mild contraction of 0.68% over October previous year), while monthly inbound imports rose sharply by 14.87%, touching USD 94.70 billion.

Corporate Leader Arunachalam Vellayan Passes Away at 72
