DEPwD and Ministry of AYUSH Launch ₹5.26 Cr Integrative Health Initiative for PwDs

The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) partnered with the Ministry of AYUSH to roll out a specialized, integrative rehabilitation initiative for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). The program aligns with the Rights of PwDs Act 2016 and the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing.

India Elected to the INTERPOL Asian Committee (2025–29)

WTO World Trade Report: AI to Accelerate Global Trade by 40% by 2040

The World Trade Organisation (WTO) unveiled its flagship World Trade Report 2025, titled “Making trade and AI work together to the benefit of all”, highlighting the sweeping macroeconomic impacts of artificial intelligence.

• Trade & GDP Expansion: AI integration is projected to boost global trade by 34% to 37% by 2040 (led by digitally deliverable services) and scale global GDP by 12% to 13%.
• Productivity Boost: Current metrics indicate AI can elevate annual Total Factor Productivity (TFP) growth by approximately 0.68 percentage points.

• Praveen Kumar (1993-batch, West Bengal cadre): Appointed as the Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). Formerly the Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), his tenure runs until September 30, 2030, succeeding Rahul Rasgotra.

Maharashtra: Ahmednagar Railway Station Officially Renamed ‘Ahilyanagar’

The Indian Railways officially updated all records, platforms, and timetables to rename Ahmednagar Railway Station (Pune Division, Maharashtra) as Ahilyanagar Railway Station.
